Not everybody grew up with those little white cords attached to their ears! What IS a podcast, anyway? Here’s a little explanation:
- A podcast is like a radio show that you put on a little listening device and listen to it whenever you want! Like a mobile phone. Take it with you wherever — doing dishes, yard work, commuting, working out. Truly liberating!
- What is the device, and where do you get them? The most common one is an “iPod.” But a generic term for all of them is “MP3 Player.” Go to an Apple store to pick up an iPod, or go to http://www.amazon.com/gp/richpub/syltguides/fullview/QMWOLVWENU4P on line.
- Do you have to use an MP3 device to hear the podcast on this website? No. You can just click on the little audio start button (looks like an tiny arrow), and you can hear it right on your computer.
- How can you listen on your MP3? It’s really pretty easy:
- Be sure iTunes is installed on your computer. If it isn’t, then go to http://tune-player.com/itunes/index.asp?s=itunes to “open” or “install” into your computer.
- Then the simplest way to find these podcasts is to go to the iTunes Store and type in “Shirley Paulson” into the search box (upper right corner of your screen).
- It takes you directly to the series, and from there you can subscribe. It will automatically install each new episode into your iTunes Library.
- Then plug in your mp3 player into your computer when iTunes is “open.” It will download all your subscriptions into your mp3 player, and off you go.
